Jonathan Blow’s puzzle moving company opens October 8

Order of the Sinking Star sends a fantasy hauling crew into a realm of magic mirrors, skipping stones and more than 1,000 puzzles.

A Warrior, Thief, Wizard, Bard, Cleric and Druid run a moving company in Order of the Sinking Star. Jonathan Blow’s new puzzle adventure launches October 8 on PC, Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5, with more than 1,000 handcrafted puzzles. The crew can push, pull and teleport its way past blockades. Finally, a removals firm with a practical answer to the stairs.

The Hearty Heroes of Hauling occupy the northern branch of an overworld with four routes. To the east, a Trader swaps places with reflections in magic mirrors. The western caverns give an Explorer colored light beams that enable wall-phasing, boulder-smashing and teleportation. Down south, a marooned Sailor routes skipping stones and rides lily pads through redirected waterways.

Arc Games: the four worlds and Gold Rooms

The worlds meet

Clearing the Gold Rooms connects pairs of worlds and opens six areas where their puzzle systems mix. Light beams meet magic mirrors; the hauling crew encounters the Sailor’s skipping stones. The map expands as its fog clears, and a stubborn puzzle can be left behind while another route gets a turn.

Arc Games’ October 1 voice-cast trailer puts names to the party: Liam O’Brien plays the Warrior, Darin De Paul the Wizard, Anjali Bhimani the Bard and Matthew Waterson the Druid. Emily O’Brien voices the Queen, Erica Luttrell the Sailor, and Blow makes a special appearance.

Thekla’s game builds on puzzle designs by Jonah Ostroff, Alan Hazelden and Sean Barrett. Their foundations include Heroes of Sokoban, Mirror Isles, Skipping Stones to Lonely Homes and Promesst.
